Real-Time Reporting Of Energy Consumption Puts Green IT On Display
Logicalis,VSR2 and Verdiem Announce Launch of Real-time Environmental Dashboard
Monday 8th October 2007 - International solutions provider, Logicalis, in conjunction with leading software display company VSR2, today announces the launch of the first real-time environmental IT dashboard, enabling unequivocal demonstration of tangible CO2, and energy savings realised from energy efficient IT solutions and programmes.
Designed by VSR2 in collaboration with Verdiem, the leading developer of desktop power management software, the Corporate Environmental Emissions Display (CEED) will display clear evidence of CO2 savings made from, amongst other areas, adoption of environmentally efficient IT programmes. The first release of the CEED dashboard supports real-time CO2 and energy data from a number of energy saving methods, including Verdiem's SURVEYOR software, allowing organisations to display real-time analysis of savings made through desktop PC power management.
"Many organisations are actively taking steps to become more efficient, and thereby reduce their energy bill and carbon footprint, but few are able to provide demonstrable evidence of the impact these policies have," explains Chris Gabriel, head of solutions for Logicalis, adding; "A visual aid helps to convey the results of these policies, and enable companies to visibly communicate and support cultural change within the workplace."

The CEED, display, which will form a key element in Logicalis' Responsibility2 programme to 'educate and inform', can be wholly tailored to incorporate feeds from both IT and facilities systems, enabling a broader appreciation of company-wide policies. Additionally, the display is able to show both environmental analysis, news streams and corporate messaging or branding, increasing its applicability to private and public sector organisations.

The dashboard is using existing wallboard technologies from VSR2 implemented in many corporate reception areas and contact centres. Additionally, information from the XML-based application can be pushed to corporate websites and intranets. The solution is available immediately.
